Monticello United Methodist Church will be having "Community Thanksgiving Service" on Sunday, November 22 at 7 p.m. An offering will be received to help support the local Hope Center. Everyone is invited to attend.
ADANTA REGIONAL PREVENTION CENTER

CHRISTMAS PARADE
The Monticello-Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 39th Annual Christmas Parade to be held Friday, December 4. Deadline to enter is November 25.
This years' event will emphasize the theme "A Christmas Promise" and will feature as Grand Marshall, Mr. Harlan Ogle.
The 2nd Annual "Main Street Holiday Decorating Contest" will be carried on this year to increase the holiday season festivities. This contest is open to all residents and businesses located on Main Street in Monticello.
There is no entry fee to participate. Just contact the Chamber of Commerce and submit your name and address. Registration deadline will be December 1.

LOCAL INPUT REQUESTED FOR USDA
The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) administers the Enviromental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), a federal program that provides technical and financial (cost-share) assistance to land users to address natural resource concerns. NRCS is asking for local input for the fiscal year 2010 program.
A local work group meeting for the ranking area consisting of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, McCreary, Pulaski, Russell, Taylor and Wayne counties is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 23 at 9:30 a.m. at Pulaski Extension office.

JROTC, FCA TEAM UP TO FEED SHUT-INS, LESS FORTUNATE
The W.C. JROTC and FCA are once again teaming up to feed the shut-ins and less fortunate of Wayne County on Thanksgiving Day. The meal will consist of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, peas and dressing. We encourage anyone who has transportation to eat or pick up their meals. The students will be delivering meals to those who cannot come to the high school.

HOOPS program to begin at Steubenville Baptist Church
The HOOPS for Christ program at Steubenville Baptist Church will soon be underway. Evaluations will be held on the following dates: November 19, 5:30-7:30 p.m.; November 20, 5:30-7:30 p.m.; November 21, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and November 23, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Practice will be held December 7-11, December 14-18, and January 4-7.
Games will begin January 9.
There is a charge to participate in the program.

The Wayne County Local Emergency Planning Committee will hold their bi-annual meeting on Thursday, November 19 at 9 a.m. at the W.C.E.M.S building.

The Monticello Independent School is seeking minority parent representation for the School Based Decision Making Committee (SBDM).

The E-911 Mapping and Addressing Office would like to commend those who have posted their new address on the dwelling and on both sides of the mailbox. Residents who have done this and have notified correspondents of the new E-911 address will not have any interruption in mail service.
However, if you have not notified them before December 31 you will experience mail delays as the post office will not deliver to mail addressed with the old address as of January 1, 2010.

Wayne County Adult Education Center has resumed classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 7 p.m. This will give an opportunity to individuals who aren't able to attend day classes. The center is open weekly on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Our Family Literacy program offers Parent and Children Together (PACT) Time on Tuesdays 3 p.m.-5 p.m. with homework help for school age children and Wednesdays from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. There will be Baby (PACT) Parent and Child Together Time.

The Wayne County Community Health Council (Local Champions Against Drug

Health-related agencies and concerned citizens are both welcome. Be a part of helping set community wide health goals and complete projects. To date the council: has conducted and published two community health surveys and held community health fairs targeting needs identified on health surveys; serves as local Champions Groups; garnered an estimated $40,000 for Wayne County to use towards drug education and prevention efforts; and continues to develop and distribute educational material related to drug prevention efforts, parenting tips, health habits, etc.

ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION
Alzheimer's disease is a progressive, degenerative disease which attacks the brain. It is the most common form of dementia and its causes are unknown. More than four million Americans are diagnosed with the disease.
The Alzheimer's Association would like to announce a support group for family members and caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease. This monthly support group will meet at the Russell Springs Active Day Center in Russell Springs, Ky. the last Monday of each month at 6 p.m. The setting is a small discussion group with an emphasis on sharing feelings, thoughts and experiences.

FREE FOREST STEWARDSHIP PLANS FOR PRIVATE WOODLAND OWNERS
The Kentucky Division of Forestry prepares Forest Stewardship Plans for private woodland owners as a free service.
At your request, a forester will walk over your property with you while explaining the condition of your woodland and listening to your objectives.
The forester will then make recommendations to help you set and achieve management goals for your forestland. The recommendations will be summarized in the Forest Stewardship Plan which will include information on timber production, fish and wildlife management and management for recreation, aesthetics and water quality.
