8-4-10 —
Monticello Independent School will be hosting a Back to School picnic on Tuesday, August 3 from 5 until 8 p.m. Free hamburgers and hot dogs for students and their parents will be served in the high school cafeteria during this time.
All students will have a chance to meet their teachers and register for bus transportation, lockers, parking permits, textbook rental and class schedules.
Elementary student orientation will be held in the elementary cafeteria and high school student registration will be held in the school's auditorium. Also at this time, students and parents can get acquainted with new principals Mary McLean and Gary Abbott.
The picnic will serve as a "prelude" to opening day for students on August 11. There will be free prize giveaways for students and parents, along with face painting for the kids.
All Monticello students and parents are invited to come and join in the excitement at Monticello School and help usher in another new school year.
