Telecom Board discusses fiber project

8-25-10 — The Telecommuni-cations Board met in regular session on Wednesday, August 18 and discussed Phase One of the fiber project, which will soon be completed.

    Board chairman Greg Latham told board members that the air conditioner has been installed for the head end. The Motorola contract, which is for the head-end equipment, has been signed, and installation of that equipment should begin soon.

    Latham noted that the head-end equipment installation will complete the first phase of the project.

    In other action during the meeting, the board agreed to purchase a 2003 van to be used by their technicians.
