7-28-10 —
A local man was injured and another man was arrested, following a confrontation that occurred on KY 1619 on Tuesday, July 13. According to Kentucky State Police Trooper Parrish Baker, the confrontation, which occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m., was between property owners.
Baker stated that Lloyd Sheppard, 46, was inspecting property markers from a recent survey of his land on KY 1619 when he was confronted by Peter Krauss, 65, who owns adjacent property.
During the confrontation, Krauss assaulted Sheppard, with a pitchfork, which resulted in a stab wound to Sheppard's left hand.
Sheppard received non-life threatening injuries during the altercation. He was treated and released from the Wayne County Hospital.
Krauss was arrested and charged with first degree assault and lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Baker said the investigation is continuing. He was assisted by officers with the Wayne County Sheriff's Department and the Kentucky Division of Fish and Wildlife.
