Monticello — The Monticello Fire Department has received a Homeland Security Grant
totaling $64,470, according to an announcement made last week by Mayor
Kenneth Catron.
The funding is through the 2009 Assistance to Firefighters Program.
The City of Monticello will provide a five percent match or $3,393,
bringing the total funds to $67,863.
The grant will be used for rescue equipment and other items for the
Monticello Fire Department.
