Two are arrested during burglary at Pulaski home

8-4-10 —     Two people from Wayne County were arrested on Tuesday, July 20 by Somerset Police, after they were allegedly caught burglarizing a home on Jill Drive in Pulaski County.

    Travis Sartain, 26, and Jalena Cox, 20, were charged with burglary second degree, criminal mischief third degree and theft by unlawful taking.

    At 12:32 p.m. on Tuesday, patrol units were dispatched to a burglary in progress at the residence.

    A resident inside the house heard their back door being kicked open and saw a male and female enter the home. She escaped to a neighbor's house and called 911.

    When officers arrived, the suspects fled the scene. Sartain was captured near Red Roof Inn on South US 27.

    He was being pursued by Officers Tim Miller and Larry Patterson and was taken into custody by Sgt. Greg Martin.

    Cox was detained by a neighbor and turned over to Officers David Nelson and Chris Fisher.

    The investigation is continuing.
