MHS Athletic Hall of Fame selections announced
Monticello — Five individuals and a baseball team have been selected for induction into the Monticello High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame Committee recently announced its inductions for this year's class and they include the Trojan Baseball Team of 1976 that finished the season with a 19-2 record and won a district championship.
Individuals selected for induction this year include: John Perkins, a basketball player who graduated in 1970; Ingra Duncan Hunter, a member of the Lady Trojans basketball team who graduated in 1997; Alfred "Bull"
Shearer, a member of the Trojan basketball team who graduated in 1925; Maurice Worsham, a dedicated fan and supporter of the program for several decades; and Jerry Daniels, a member of the Trojan basketball team and a member of the Class of 1973.
This year's induction class will be introduced to basketball fans on Friday, January 15, during the girls basketball game with Garrard County.
The formal Hall of Fame banquet is set for Saturday, January 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Monticello High School gymnasium.
