RETA WALTINE CLARK PERDEW
June 8, 1923-June 22, 2009
Reta Waltine Clark Perdew, age 86, of the Alpha Community, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009 at her home.
She was born in Clinton County on June 8, 1923 ., the daughter of the late Hubert and Ida (Wallen) Clark.
She was united in marriage to Bro. Joe E. Perdew on August 18, 1941, who passed away on February 18, 1971.
To this union five children survive-Jerry D. (Pat) Perdew, Reta Sue (Dallas) James, Patricia (Robert) Endicott, Howard (Carol) Perdew and Elaine Clark Perdew; eight grandchildren-Annettee Marshall, Kara Perdew, Dean James, Reta James, Charles James, Robert Endicott, Joe Endicott, and Joanna Gilligan; and seven great-grandchildren; and she will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by one son-Larry J. Perdew; four brothers-Herman Clark, Glen Clark, Eddie V. Clark and Cecil Clark; and three sisters-Opal Clark Ayers, Jessie Clark Burgess, and Margie Clark Marcum.
She was a member of the Gap Creek Baptist Church. For many years she was a part of Vacation Bible School and taught the younger children's Sunday School classes. In her later years she enjoyed tending to her flowers and many house plants as well as caring for her dog D.H. and especially Callie, her favorite calico cat.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Koger Ramsey officiating. Burial followed in the Perdew Cemetery of Gap Creek, Ky.
