WILLIAM LLOYD DICK

William Lloyd Dick, passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Golden Years Nursing Home after an extended illness.

He was born January 3, 1919 in the Pueblo community of Wayne County, the son of the late Isaac G. and Ottie Morrow Dick.

On November 1, 1943 he united in marriage with Marjorie Marie Davenport Dick, who preceded him in death on August 20, 1988.

To this 44 year union they are survived by one son-Bro. William Lloyd "Bill" Dick of Monticello; four grandchildren-Terry and Don Dick, Denise Hicks and Suzette Marie Waylon; great-grandchildren-Kristie, Levi, Kaitlin, Joseph, Matthew, John Thomas, Heather and Cody; three sisters-Bernice Dick, Wilma Dick and Mary Daniel; three brothers-Floyd, Cecil and Lawrence Dick; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by one son-Jerry Donald Dick in August of 2005; two sisters-Dorothy Roberts and Zollie Dick; and one brother-Ellis Dick.

He served his country with honor during the Second World War. He had accepted Christ as his Savior as a young man and joined the Big Sinking Baptist Church, but was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church at the time of his passing.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 4, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Charles Eugene Dick and Bro. Kenneth Dick officiating.

Burial followed in Elk Spring Cemetery with military honors performed by the Wayne County Chapter of the DAV.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Hickey and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
