EVELYN WINCHESTER

Aug. 8, 1941-June 24, 2009

Evelyn Winchester, age 67, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at her

residence in Muncie, surrounded by her family, following an extended

illness.

She was born August 8, 1941 in Mt. Pisgah, Ky., the daughter of John and

Ida (Delk) Simpson.

She is survived by her husband-Bobby K. Winchester, to whom she would

have been married to for 50 years on July 18, 2009.

She is also survived by one son-Robert Winchester (wife-Dana) of Eaton;

one daughter-Debra Lair (husband-Kerry) of Monticello, Ky.; five

grandchildren-Rachel Cantrell (husband-Mike) of Daleville, Douglas

Winchester, Ethan Penn and Chelsea Penn, all of Eaton, and Kelly Lair of

Monticello, Ky.; two great-grandchildren-Mason Thomas Cantrell and Kaylee

Marie Cantrell, both of Daleville; her brothers and sisters-Keith Simpson

(wife-Hilda) of Parmleysville, Ky., Irene Holt of Muncie, Paul Simpson

(wife-Irene) of Mt. Pisgah, Ky., Kenneth Simpson (wife-Stella) of Muncie,

Ind., Ina Mae Hurt (husband-Paul) of Muncie, Dean Brewster of Monticello,

Ky., and Joyce Barnard (husband-Gaylord) of Muncie; and several nieces and

nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother-Bennie Simpson; and two

sisters-Lula Foster and Alta Simpson.

She attended school in Parmleysville, Ky., and moved to Muncie in 1959.

She was a member of Riverview United Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 26, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the

funeral home chapel with Rev. Anthony Bilbrey and Rev. Hoyt Davis

officiating. Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory.

Parson Mortuary in charge of arrangemens.
