Madeline Marie Choate, age 75, of Monticello, Ky., passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Ky.
She was born April 27, 1936 in New Castle, Ind., the daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Marie (DeWitt) Gorman.
She was united in marriage on May 23, 1954 to Charles William Choate, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son-Stephen Choate, of Monticello, Ky.; seven daughters-Carolyn (Paul) Gunter, of Monticello, Ky., Shirley (Homer) Daniels, Martha (Jimmy) Huckaby, Joyce (Gary) Jones, Janice (Randy) Dishman, Lisa (Dale) Daniels and Cindie (Scotty) Piercy, all of Monticello, Ky.; 24 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by four sisters-Claire Davis and Josephine Piercy, of New Castle, Ind., Louise Gorman, of Michigan, and Joanne Choate of Monticello, Ky.; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by three brothers-Bob, Eddie and Herman Gorman; and one sister-Geraldine Gorman; and six great-grandchildren-Christopher, Paul, Alexander, Alexis and Andrew Welch, and Kayden Shawn Daniels.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Bob Schaeffer officiating.
Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
