Gladys Neeley Troxtel, age 62, of Somerset, Ky. passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at her residence.
She was born in the Kidder Community of Wayne County, Ky. on August 13,
1948 to the late John Quincy Adams and Jane Morrow Neeley. She is a retired G.E. employee and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Pumpkin Hollow community). She loved to fish, going to yard sales and enjoyed family gatherings.
She is survived by her husband-Kenneth Ray Troxtel whom she married on July 7, 1981 in Scott County, Tenn.; two sons-Joe Edward (and Debbie) Carrender of Bronston, Ky. and Calvin Wayne (and Celeste) Carrender of Somerset, Ky.; a stepdaughter-Nicole (and Reece) Powers of Eubank, Ky.; three brothers-Floyd (and Rosie) Neeley of Monticello, Ky., Ray Neeley of Ohio, and Herbert Neeley of Bronston, Ky.; two sisters-Betty Troxtel of Somerset, Ky. and Della (and Newdale) Branscum of Bronston, Ky.; four grandchildren-Cody (and Kasaundra) Carrender, Keshia (and Kevin) Bickford, Kendra Carrender, and Gage Carrender; three great grandchildren-Kenzie Bickford, Trenton Lee Newberry, and Jamison Edward Carrender; three step grandchildren-Justin Delaney, Austin Powers, and Josh Powers; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by four brothers-Donald Neeley, Dewey Neeley, Marvin Neeley, and Lowell Neeley; four sisters-Brenda K. Neeley, Abbie Neeley, Doris Jean Neeley, and Josephine Neeley; a nephew-Scotty Branscum, and a step grandchild-Jordan Powers.
Funeral services for Gladys Neeley Troxtel were held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 11 a.m.
with Bro. Ulanda Price and Bro. Ed Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Kidder, Ky.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, Ky. 42503.
