Ralph J. Morris, age 87, was born July 28, 1923, the son of the late Lonzo and Edna Crouch Morris and departed this life, Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
He united in marriage with Sophia Thornton Morris, who survives. To this union two children survive-Ralph Milton Morris and Louise Edwards.
Also surviving are four grandchildren-Jeff and Josh Morris, Melissa Edwards Kurth and Melinda Edwards; three great grandchildren-Jeffery Paul Morris, Shania Morris and Lane Morris; his siblings-Norma Alley and Billy Morris.
He is preceded in death by his siblings-Mildred Ramsey, Bobby and R. Ray Morris.
He served his country with honor in the Navy during the Second World War in the South Pacific Theater.
The funeral service was held Thursday morning in the funeral home chapel with Bro. David Frost officiating; Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
Monticello Chapter of the DAV presented the military honors.
Hickey and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
